Traces of Copernicus are spread all over the city:
there is a special building called Copernicus House which is claimed to be the very place of birth of the astronomer,
in the town square you can find the statue of Copernicus holding an astrolabe in his left hand and pointing a finger of his right hand to the heavens - both being the symbols of his connection to celestial studies.
But above all of that, in 1945 the university was set up, Nicolaus Copernicus University, of which we are proud to be the students. Having long and rich history, nowadays NCU combines tradition of science with the cutting-edge research at many scientific platforms.
We, NCU Student OSA Chapter, want to share all of that with you.
During our conference we're going to organize small official tournament of logic game using lasers, called Khet 2.0. The creators of this game are main sponsors of prizes in this competition.
Visit Torun on 3-6 July 2013 and attend the conference - talk to your peers about science, let yourself develop as a young scholar, FEEL the unique spirit of modernity mixed with tradition that can only be found in Torun.
